It’s happening at the Brooklyn Museum!

Honored as the 2012 Designer of the Year at the African Diaspora Awards by Applause Magazine, British Zimbabwean Designer Farai Simoyi is at it again with a presentation of her collections at the Brooklyn Museum Target First Saturdays curated by Ngozi Odita of Society Hae. Featuring a mix of Simoyi’s previous & latest collections her colorful and vibrant designs will come to life while displayed on ‘live mannequins’ followed by a runway fashion presentation.

I love Michelle Obama in any gown she wears, but last night there was a moment of deja vu when I noticed that the dress Mrs. Obama was wearing by Jason Wu was similar to a dress I had designed a few months ago for a wedding party. I said to myself, “Great minds think alike!”
